and  KELLY LEMMONS was selected as the 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year! 

Kelly moved to New Market to teach 5th grade math this school year, but she has brought so much to our school in the time she has been here! 

Some of Kelly's favorite moments of teaching are the pure excitement of seeing students be happy about the little things, hearing their stories, allowing them time to share about themselves, and becoming a part of their life. She is always cheering them on, encouraging them to try new things, seeing kindness and generosity everyday at work.

 

A little about Kelly:

Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Tusculum College K-8

Started teaching in 2002 at White Pine School, 7^th and 8^th grade Computer Technology

2007-2011 moved to Jefferson Middle School and taught 6th-8^th  Math Lab

2018 NMES 5^th Grade Science/SS as an interim

2019 WPS 5^th Grade ELA as an interim

2020-2023 4^th grade ELA

2024 NMES 5^th Grade Math
